A little history...
My name is Gayle (Sherritt) Sanchirico, and I’ve been drawing, creating, arranging things, and painting since my childhood in Columbus, Ohio. Encouragement came from my teachers. I still remember winning my first art awards and being asked to design programs for events in elementary school and even selling my first painting to the lunch lady in high school. Those early moments and receiving a talent scholarship to the Columbus College of Art and Design fueled my passion. But my creative journey didn’t stop there. Eventually, I found myself drawn to a different kind of canvas: retail Visual Merchandising and Presentation. In this dynamic field, I designed, implemented, and directed merchandising displays, including animated holiday installations. It was creating art and designs in three dimensions! Life took me on various adventures—I relocated with my family several times across the country. But no matter where I landed, I stayed connected to the fine arts. I attended art courses and workshops, always seeking inspiration. Then, in Brighton, Michigan, I found my artistic home. Becoming an active member in 1999 of the Brighton Art Guild, adding new opportunities. I’ve exhibited, competed, and received numerous awards and honors in many exhibitions across the country. I continued to create art from my home studio where I arrange all sorts of mediums—paint, paper, found objects, lines, shapes…whatever sparks my imagination. Each stroke of the brush, each collage, each assemblage tells a story. It’s a symphony of colors, textures, and emotions. And I’m still learning, still growing, still finding joy in the act of creation whether it’s on a canvas, paper or arranging paintings as a curated installation. I hope to touch hearts, evoke emotions, and inspire others, just as it inspires me.
